With marble eyes she lay there
Her stare now led her nowhere
A mere child he brought under his wings
Wings of anything but pride
Had brought upon her parts of his life
Disallowed a child to be child
A being that, unable to fly
He caged and left to sink
Knew well that once sun's rays appeared
Care and her life would have no link
His frail and split mind had convinced
Himself to not try
With her in his hands
He convinced himself to not cry
"Farewell to this familiar place of grief
If only the beauty of the emptiness
I now face will share with me its solace
It had called for me
The vast, dark outside of the city
Had convinced me to leave
With its voice of consolation
These velvet words touched me
Like nothing human
Its promises solely held me onto
The crooked branches of life
The avid rain from outside
Of the glass was like my feelings
Ready to cast its waves upon me
Come then, waves. Break through. Come
