Blue Plate Specials - Lou'siana Stomp Тексты

I never will forget it for as long as I'm alive
I was hitching out of N'Awlins on highway 55
It had been a couple days since I'd had a bite to eat
I was tired, I was hungry, I was dizzy from the heat
I thought I heard a sound coming from a mangrove swamp
And it sounded like some people doing the Lou'siana Stomp

I followed that sound back behind some trees
To a little white church just as pretty as you please
A band was playing R&B, they was playing Zydeco
They was playing Clifton Chenier and Fats Domino
In that little church yard in that Lou'siana swamp
There must have been a hundred people doing the Lou'siana Stomp.

There was shrimps, there was crabs, there was red beans and rice
I was as sure as I could be that I was in Paradise
They was cookin' Jambalaya and Crawfish Etouffe
When somebody screamed, "Laissez les bontemps roulez!"
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven in that Lou'siana swamp
So I jumped up on my feet and did The Lou'siana Stomp

I woke up in the morning underneath a 'simmon tree
The whole place was deserted, wasn't no one there but me
I couldn't help but wonder if it all had been a dream
'Cause you know down on the Bayou, things ain't always like they seem
But in my pocket was a note, said "Come back anytime you want, 'cause every Friday night we do The Lou'siana Stomp!"
