In this town there is
A house where people say
No one has been allowed in for at least
Two hundred years and maybe even more
So old and dark with ivy
Creeping and all curtains drawn so you
Can't see in and some claim
That they've seen ghosts and that it's haunted
Only I can still
Remember who lives in that house but when
I met her she was young
Although I can't say she was innocent
Then a pack of gypsies came into the town
They danced all night
And as her father was a rich man
Thought that they would kidnap her
But in the end she'd taken one a prisoner
You might wonder how
A girl so soft and vulnerable could
Overcome a man much stronger
Well, let's just say she had a special way
Since that day we'd never
See her she had all her food and drink
Delivered and some thought
Perhaps the gypsy had been murdered
But when I'd pass the house I would hear laughter
And shadows dancing madly in the night
Three years passed and someone
Asked if I had heard some news but I
Didn't answer and I'll tell you why
It seems her gypsy wasn't dead at all
Upstairs in a room
So quiet dressed in blue and white
Her love lying still alive
And looking handsomer than ever
