Here's my house
it looks very plain
and so do the people that live here
We don't
stop and say hello
when we meet in the stairway
But at night when I go to bed
I can hear all sorts of noises
I know I'm not supposed to pry but
The man next door's
playing games with his daughter
The girl upstairs
is always shouting 'bout demons
The next day outside my door
they're all talking about me
They are sure that I am insane
I should be locked up for good
They will not be kept awake
by this loony from the third floor
banging his sick head against the pipes while
The man next door's
playing games with his daughter
The girl upstairs
is always shouting 'bout demons
The man downstairs
will soon be guilty of murder
And I stay up and smoke a couple of cigarettes
Here's my house
Here's my house
Here's my house
Here's my house
Here's my house
It looks very plain
Here's my house
And so do the people
Here's my house
We don't say hello
Here's my house
When we meet in the stairway
Here's my house
It looks very plain
Here's my house
And so do the people
Here's my house
We don't say hello
