I was sitting in the shade
with my faithful fishing rod
I was dreaming half asleep
I was thirsty, I was hot
It was pulling at my rod
Hooked a purple shirt
that was hanging on a girl
I was pulling through the dirt
With a mermaid on the line
I kept steady as a rock
But I surely didn't mind
this piece of sudden luck
She took my hook, line and sinker
She took my tasty bait
She was so fresh
that I could drink her
But I knew I had to wait
I would rub her high and dry
with a towel and my shirt
I was so happy I could cry
when I saw she wasn't hurt
So we grilled a fish I caught
it was smelling heavenly
We drank the wine I brought
We were only me and she
