Robin Bacior - Familiar Road Songtexte

Last night I dreamed,
You wouldn’t met me past your door.
Lots of pretty people in your house,
A place I’m not invited anymore.
Well I tried to lie my way through but you still asked me to leave,
You turned your back on me, but I ain’t got no other place to go.
See I’ve been living in your heart for some time,
Then you go and kick me to the street, act so mean,
And now, I ain’t got a dime of sympathy to my name.
But that’s alright, that’s ok, because I still remember the road on which I came.

Tonight I scream, from across the town,
Cursing you and this city for having no pity on a second start.
The heat is stirring me to believe that freedom isn’t cheap,
And the coast may be a leap but it’s saving me.
The quarters start to shrink, which leads me to think,
Of counting down to getting out, and I don’t wanna shout,
But if you doubt the wrong you laid on me then that can only be described as a shame.
But that’s alright, that’s ok, because I still remember the road on which I came to you.
