Stirring anger moves the night
Shadows creeping through the rain
Torn by new light from the dawning moon
Crawling in a desert place
Where nothing grows or moves,
No one breathes or even dares to go!
Scratching in the dirt, I hear her thunder…..
"I gave the world to you
While you thought nothing of it.
Behold what you have done!" (Gaia)
Mother forgive us, we know not what we can do! (Humankind)
Piercing black holes in her skin
Cutting, tearing at her lungs
Now she fights for every breath to live
Always taking what we want
Instead of what we need
Innocents must suffer at our hands!
Swallowed by the mire, I feel her sorrow……
"I gave the world to you
While you thought nothing of it.
Behold what you have done!"
Mother forgive us, we know not what we have begun!
(Musical break)
Ah, ah, ah! You don't hear me!
(Lullaby… after flute)
Oh dearest Gaia, beautiful one,
Can you ever find a way to forgive and heal
Scars we inflicted upon your purity and your natural beauty?
(Guitar)
"I gave this world to you
While you thought nothing of it.
I've given all I can give
Behold my poor children; look at what you have done!
I gave this world to you
And I thought nothing of it.
Behold, you've stolen my trust!"
Mother forgive us, we knew not what we would become!
