Mark David Manders - Coast Of Madagascar Songtexte
Tucked away in a cardboard box behind the attic door
My chance to find a book of rhymes from a hundred years before
Tales I read came to life like a sail in the breeze
Lord Byron was my captain, and his pages were my seas
And we'd sail across the water
On the trade winds of time
And off the coast of Madagascar
We'd leave our misfortunes behind
There was something about a princess held captive by her foes
There was something in his verses that would not let me go
And as stately galliants poised to fight, sails stretching at the seams
I'd fall asleep in the light and drift off to dream
My life is like a cardboard box filled with memories and rhymes
I've lost track of the book I had but I can still recall his lines
Lookin' back I have to smile as I let my pen run free
For I was much too young to fathom the course he'd set for me
