Which visions of reality did we have,
Through the glass eye of technology,
And the dull eye of religion,
In this deceptive self assurance?
Blindly looking at the steps,
Through the telescope I couldn't see,
The essence of being human,
Nor learn what distance means, what distance means.
Blindly looking at the cells,
Through the microscope I couldn't see,
The stars which live in every creature,
The immediate key to infinity.
If only one breath was left to me,
I would use it to realize,
How innocently this flower grows,
With my eyes now I see.
If only one heartbeat was left to me,
I would spend it to forgive,
This blossom is full of promises,
And nothing more now I need.
Blindly looking at ourselves,
We saw infallible believers,
Holding tight on our position,
In ignorance we doomed the world.
Looking at the others,
Through my doctrine I couldn't see,
Such a blessing is being different,
A gift for all humanity.
If only one heartbeat was left to me,
I would spend it to forgive,
This blossom is full of promises,
And nothing more now I need.
